Starrett Button Back Watch Set

The Starrett 196 Universal Rear Plunger Dial Indicator features 0.001" and 0.02 mm graduations that handle most jobs. The stem diameter is 1/4" (6.3 mm).

Antimagnetic models (inch reading) 196A6Z and 196B6 are also available.

For full use, the operator first selects the proper contact from the three hardened contact points supplied with each model. The contact should then be placed against the work with sufficient pressure to give the hand a full turn.

Set the hand to zero by rotating the dial using the knurled bezel. This provides one full rotation of the hand both to the right and left of zero, showing a rise or fall in work and the amount of that variation.
