Starrett 124M Solid Rod Inside Micrometer Sets are the most popular inside micrometers due to their light weight, ease of use and range.
They are very useful for measuring internal diameters of cylinders and rings, and measuring parallel surfaces.
The desired range is obtained by assembling rods and spacer collars into the micrometer head.
The measuring rods are provided with a shoulder that is precisely positioned in the micrometer head and locked into position.
When assembling rods into the A and B heads, the reading line on the micrometer head must be aligned with the mark on each rod (except 50-75 mm (2-3") rods).
Rod diameters are approximately 6mm (1/4") on sizes A and B, and approximately 8.5mm (11/32") on size C.
Each rod has an individual length adjustment for the anvil, using special wrenches supplied from 200 to 800 mm, 0.01 mm graduation and 4 measuring rods with case.
