Ideal gauge for checking bearing alignment or shaft runout without disassembling the motor. It is also useful as a tension gauge on engine frames.
This internal gauge checks the deformation of the crankshaft webs and has a direct relationship with the existing misalignment or excessive wear of the bearings. Used on all diesel engine shafts and center crankshafts of any type of engine or compressor, the gauge can also be applied as a strain gauge on engine frames while the engine is running.
A comparison of the readings taken in the upper and lower positions indicates any misalignment of the cylinder and frame resulting in local excessive stress and eventual cracking of the frame neck. Meter with balance accessory, neck range 61-458mm.
Characteristics
- Dial indicator movement is approximately 5/32" (4mm) and, with stems and extension, provides a range of 2 3/8 to 18" or 61-458mm.
- There are 10 rods and one extension equipped.
- The rods are marked to designate the approximate total length of the gauge.
- The indicator has a movable bezel to adjust the dial in relation to the hand and a shatterproof glass.
- Designed in collaboration with Hartford Steam Boiler. Your inspectors use Gage to check engine shafts and frames for distortion.
